The Hoogland Center for the Arts announces auditions for the musical ONCE.
July 5, 2022
The Hoogland Center for the Arts is excited to present the area community theatre premiere of ONCE! Anna Maisenbacher will direct this beautiful production. ONCE will be presented in the LRS Theatre on March 24-26 and March 31-April 2, 2023.
From the very first note, ONCE draws you in and never lets go. This emotionally captivating musical is the only show to have music that won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Olivier Award and a Tony Award.
On the streets of Dublin, an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant are drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one fateful week, an unexpected friendship and collaboration quickly evolves into a powerful but complicated love story, underscored by emotionally charged music.
Featuring all of the magical songs from the critically acclaimed film, including the Oscar-winning "Falling Slowly," this achingly beautiful, joyously uplifting show strikes an unforgettable chord in audiences and speaks to the power of music to connect us all. A show like that only comes around ONCE.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, October 16 from 12-4pm. All roles are open to audition. We are seeking approximately 4-5 women and 7-8 men of all ethnicities. Ideally, actors would be able to play one of the listed instruments, but this is not required to audition.
Actors should prepare a short folk/rock song for auditions. If able, actors should accompany themselves on an instrument for auditions. If unable, an accompanist will be present. Actors should also bring any additional instrument they are able to play to auditions.
